Fire managers are primarily concerned with the potential for new ignitions today from the thunderstorms predicted to pass through the fire area. The fuels are very dry, and the thunderstorms are not likely to produce much moisture. Fire in unburned pockets of grass and brush in the interior continue to smoke and smolder. Spot fires are a possibility in the dry, receptive fuels near the fireline, but crews will be vigilant and thorough today as they mop up and look for heat and smoke on both sides of the fireline.
